Mobile Apps - Compaq iPAQ Pocket PC H3800 Series

Asked By Mustafa Cinar on 11-Jan-09 05:21 PM
Hello,

I have Compaq iPAQ Pocket PC H3800 Series with Microsoft Pocket PC 2002
Operating system. Microsoft ActiveSync 3.5 software doesn't work in Micosoft
VISTA. I have downloaded Microsoft Mobile Device 6.1. But this software
doesn't recognize my mobile device.

How can I connect to my mobile device in Microsoft Vista Ultimate?

Thank you for your help.

WMDC only supports WM2003 devices and newer. IIRC, your Compaq should
connect, but you won't be able to sync it- only copy files to/fro the device
and install software on it.

If it's not connecting at all, it might be a driver error. Connect it and
check the Device Manager on the PC and delete any USB devices that show an
error (or delete any windows mobile device that's there.) Then disconnect
the device, reboot both the PC and Compaq and try again.

Good luck!

I have had the same problem. You need Microsoft Office 2007 to make it work
properly

I'm not sure that's the case. The OP has a PPC 2002 device, which, IIRC, is
not supported in WMDC- only WinMo 2003 and higher (and Office 2003 and
higher if memory serves.)

However, 2002's are supposed to be able to "connect" to be able to transfer
files, but do not support synching.

Perhaps the OP can further define what "doesn't recognize" his device means.
