If you have the password, start/settings/personal/password...
...if you don't, the only option is a hard reset to factory state (you
loose everything in main memory) see your manual as hard reset varies
with each device.

Weird - I cannot find the 'password' option in the personal screen - just a
'lock' option.
Maybe something to do with T-mobile?
Jaap van Ekris replied...
The Lock option in your setting sis the way to enable/disable it. Please
remeber that your system administrator (in an Exchange environment) can
block your access to it.

That's the same applet- it was renamed "lock" on recent devices (WM5 and
up?)

@aioe.org:
Got it. Problem is, there is no option visible to disable the password?
If I put a blank one in, it wants 'at least four characters'?
Jaap van Ekris replied...
Normally there is a tickbox in front of it to disable it.

You need to enter your current password (if any) to get into the applet.
Once in, untick the "Prompt if device unused for..." Box and tap ok in the
top right corner. The password lock is now disabled.

Please
Thanks for the advice.
When I go into 'lock', and put the pswd in, I get a screen asking me to
select the type, and a greyed out option to 'prompt if device unused'.
THis has happned as I wanted to sync directly with our Exchange server,
rather than se Outlook, and the only way to do it was by adding a
password to the settings. However, the phone is my own and as far as I
know will not be controlled by our LAN for the admin rights.

Notes and Files Relationships Mobile Apps Hi, I'm syncing Outlook 2007 on the PC with a PPC Pro 6 device O2 Stellar (HTC TyTn). We also use Exchange. Everything works fine except Outlook notes. I've chosen it under tools, options to sync and it does fine. I d like on device and PC. I appear to get a copy of all my Outlook notes in the device \ my documents folder on the PC as well as in Outlook. I just cannot undereatnd what is happening. I'd understand if Outlook notes and device sync'd and if files and files sync'd, but why do the device twice? If I delete the Notes out of files - they go out of Outlook? What's that all about? What is the relationship between notes and the fMy Documents \ notes location? cheers, Richard PocketPC Active Sync Discussions Outlook 2007 (1) Database (1) ActiveSync (1) TyTn (1 Windows (1) Herrera (1) FMy (1) Fb7ee7b4a220 (1) Hi, Notes are stored as separate files.
