In windows mobile, the attachedment files from email are always saved with extension .att in the message folder. I can open the doc attachedment from outlook without any problem. However, when I try to directly open the file using "pword.exe \\Windows\\Messaging\\Attachments\\***.att"

The contents in the doc attachement file are not shown correctly. If I manually change ***.att to ***.docx, then I can open it with pword with no problem.

Anyone know any ways to fix it?

thanks very much,

Qi

The real answer is that there is nothing to "fix"- the device is working
as it is supposed to. The ".att" files are supposed to be opened in the
email itself by tapping on the file name; you are not supposed to sneak in
the back door! ;)

To open the file in PWord anytime you like, simply tap and hold on the
attachment's file name in the email then select "save as." This will
allow you to save the attachment on the device just like you would save
an atachment to your desktop in desktop Outlook, and then you can access
it directly in PWord even after you delete the email.

I'm considering getting a PocketPC specifically for Pocket Outlook so I can sync the two together. What are peoples experiences of using Pocket Outlook with desktop Outlook. In my experience of using PIM software I've often found that a lot of client is not support on the mobile client. I'm sort of hoping that Pocket Outlook / Outlook 2003 will be able to contain the same information. Mark PocketPC Discussions Outlook (1
WMDC - Outlook has not been installed - it is! Mobile Apps I have a problem setting up what Outlook items to sync in WMDC. All the Outlook items are greyed out and underneath each item it says "Outlook has not been installed." Outlook 2007 is indeed installed. I uninstalled both Outlook and GroupWise, apparently there must be some sort of mapi conflict that I'm not sure how to resolve. I then reinstalled both Outlook and GroupWise, checking WMDC after each reinstall. Even with no trace of GroupWise on the computer, WMDC still said that Outlook was not installed and therefore could not select which items to sync. BTW, both Outlook
