Hello
In our company we want to choose a type of hand held devices from some type
of various devices to develop our new application. Some devices have windows
CE and the other have windows mobile. I think that it is better that I don???t
choose windows CE devices, because it is an out of dated operating system
that Microsoft don???t have any plan to support it more. I think that Microsoft
replace windows CE with windows mobile and plan to support windows mobile. I
want to know that is this idea true? If it is true I prefer to choose devices
with windows mobile.
Regards???

Windows Mobile is a 'specialized' version (specific shell, buttons, etc ) of
Windows CE; the latter is not an out of date OS: WM 6.X is based on Windows
CE 5.0 while Windows CE latest version is 6.0 (improver kernel) and MS will
release even further versions.
The choice is up to you. Windows CE is typically used by OEM who can highly
customize the oS their while WM devices are basically the same: it depends a
lot on the application you plan to run which OS to choose
