Mobile Apps - Set Folder as Persistent
Asked By raiderdav

I have a WinCE 6.0R3 image that I am attempting to modify to allow for
persistent storage in a specific folder. We have Hive-Based Registry
and RAM and ROM File System enabled and working as expected. I also
have "Mounted Volume" store set up in Flash that allows for persistent
storage (ie can add/remove files and changes appear after power
cycles).
What I'd like to do is designate a specific folder in the system root
as persistent. I have seen a lot of postings on setting the entire /
Windows folder as persistent (do not want to do that) or switching to a
ROM-Only system (do not want to do that either). Is there an easy way
to designate a folder such as /Images as persistent so that any files
that are added or removed from that folder are maintained after a
power cycle? Or is my only option to relocate this folder onto the
Mounted Volume?
Thanks
WinCE

It does not work that way. You can make the name of your mounted filesystem
whatever you want (Hard Disk, Storage Card, PersistentStorage, etc.), but you
cannot say that you want this folder and that folder and this other folder
over here to be persistent. You'd have to put the folder on the mounted
volume.

Note also that you can change the name of you mounted volume to be whatever
you want it to be, like the folder name that you want.
